Coordinating Your Carpet Installation
Follow the instructions on this page for a trouble-free
carpet installation.
The carpet installer or coordinator will call to schedule an installation
date.
Your department representative must coordinate each step of the
installation with the individuals listed below.
FURNITURE
If furniture removal is necessary, contact Jay Jacobson of the Physical
Plant at 355-8485. You will need to send him a service request.
Please
Note: All furniture must be removed before the carpet can be
installed.
DOORS
If any doors need to be cut off prior to installation, please contact
Deb Russell at 353-1760 ext. 327. You will need to send her a service
request.
CARPET REMNANTS
Extra carpet will be left with you to use for any repairs in the
future. Designate a safe place to store the carpet remnants and
inform the installer of that location.
COMPUTERS
For assistance with computer cable relocation and hookup, contact
Peter Chen at 353-5266, Computer Center Engineering Services.
TELEPHONES
For telephone relocation and hookup, send a service request to
Telecom Systems at fax# 353-6633. For further assistance call 353-5515.
CLEANUP
After the carpet installation and the return of furniture is
scheduled, contact Mark Lutkenhoff at the Physical Plant, 355-8485,
for any necessary cleanup of new carpet, such as vacuuming. Small
amounts of yarn and debris will remain. (Note - Installers do
not have access to vacuums.)
*** Asbestos Note ***
If necessary, abatement of floor tile will be done the evening
before your carpet is installed. The carpet coordinator, Paula Palmiter at 353-9468, will help you schedule this with Physical Plant.
With
your help, we hope to make your carpet installation a smooth
operation. If you have any questions, please call Paula at 353-9468.
